The herd was established back in 2004 by Peter, as a continuation of a family tradition. His grandfather was the last commercial breeder of Oxfords in the 1950's, with the Duchess bloodline.
We purchased Dewlish Claire, our foundation sow, as an 'in pig' gilt. We now have four of her daughters by Tadneys Alexander, champion of the Great Yorkshire Show 2004, purchased by us at Ross-on-Wye rare breeds sale in October 2004.
This year we have purchased a Duchess in-pig gilt from Raglan which was successfully shown last season.
Our present boar is Longash Clarence and we are very pleased with his stock. We accept visiting sows with a stud fee of £20. He does travel to a couple of regular sows.
We invariably have young stock for sale which can be used for breeding as well as fattening.
