North Leigh village

Field Farm is on the outskirts of the small village of North Leigh. At the end of the drive is a small 1000 year old Church. As you make your way into the village there is a village pub that serves the local ale from Hook Norton brewery. Also in the village is a dis-used windmill which was built in 1833.

North Leigh Roman Villa

North Leigh is home to a 4th century Roman villa. The villa consists of over 60 rooms, some of which have mosaics which are now under shelter. The villa was first exposed in 1813 and is free to visitors to look around. For more information CLICK HERE

Market town of Witney

Approximately 3 miles away is the market town of Witney. Previously famous for its blankets, Witney is home to a busy town centre which is currently being expanded to house a new cinema and more shops. Within the town is the large Church of St. Mary's at the end of the Church green. A prominent feature of Market square is the Buttercross. A local landmark previously used to trade butter and eggs with the local villages. Witney also has 2 museums. Cogges Manor farm museum and the Witney museum.

Woodstock and Blenheim Palace

Approximately 15 minutes away is the town of Woodstock which is the home of Blenheim Palace, which in turn is home to the 11th Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.
